HGA Architects and Engineers won a 25-Year Award from AIA Minnesota for the Willow Lake Laboratory. The award recognizes exemplary architectural projects that have stood the test of time. The laboratory, completed in 1985 and owned by HB Fuller Company, was built with the philosophy of responsible use of natural resources. More than 50% of the 129,000-sf building’s envelope is earth-sheltered and protected from northern winds. It is 92% energy-independent and was built on a site that also includes undisturbed wetlands and a 60-acre lake.
