C onstruction work has commenced on San Ysidro (Calif.) Health Center's Maternal and Child Health Center. The 39,000-sf, $14.4 million facility will provide healthcare services for low-income residents living in the south region of San Diego County. San Clemente, Calif.-based Consolidated Contracting Services is leading the project, which entails construction of a three-story building, two-level parking lot, dentist office, and various exam rooms and offices. The facility will feature entrance canopies, trellises, balconies, decorative steel and tile, and retaining walls. Rodriguez Park Architecture and Planning, San Diego, is the project architect, with Degenkolb Engineers, San Francisco, as structural engineer and Walsh Engineers, San Diego, as mechanical engineer. Completion: December 2008.
