College residence hall earns LEED Silver laurels

Constructed with regional and recycled materials, Enotah Hall at Young Harris (Ga.) College spans 62,500 sf and rises to three stories. Housing 200 students, the $16 million facility, built by Atlanta-based Hardin Construction, has won LEED Silver certification. Architect Lord, Aeck & Sargent designed deep roof overhangs to shade the upper terrace, and the windows of the residential wings are oriented so as to increase daylighting while minimizing glare.
