Preston Swincher

Generational expert and author Preston Swincher studies how the Information Age is changing the way every generation pursues success. His blend of research and humor provides business people with the tools and information needed to build connections across every generation in the workplace.

Swincher graduated from Texas Christian University with degrees in Entrepreneurial Management and Theatre. He has appeared on CNN and other major media outlets, and has headlined at events across the United States and Canada.

Bradford Perkins
Bradford Perkins

Bradford Perkins, FAIA, MRAIC, AICP, is the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Perkins Eastman, one of the world's largest architecture firms (No. 5 on BD+C's 2013 Giants 300 Architecture Firms ranking).

Perkins has directed a wide variety of projects throughout the world in each of the firm's primary practice areas—from small projects for nonprofits and institutions to large-scale mixed-use programs. The depth of his experience makes Perkins a firm-wide resource on planning, feasibility programming, project management, and feasibility analysis.

He's authored more than 80 articles and book chapters, as well as five textbooks, and is an adjunct faculty member of Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art and Planning.

Raymond Kogan
Raymond Kogan

Raymond Kogan, AIA, is the president of Kogan & Company, specializing in strategy and management consulting for design and construction firms. He brings almost 40 years of experience in the practice, marketing, and management of AEC services. Kogan and his colleague Cara Bobchek co-authored Strategic Planning for Design Firms, as well as the strategic planning section of the 2014 edition of the Architect's Handbook of Professional Practice. He serves on AIA National's 10,000-member Practice Management Knowledge Community Advisory Group, and chaired the group in 2011.

Cara Bobchek
Cara Bobchek

A senior consultant with Kogan & Company, Bobchek advises design and construction firms on strategy, marketing, and communications. Bobchek and her colleague Raymond Kogan co-authored Strategic Planning for Design Firms, as well as the strategic planning section of the 2014 edition of the Architect's Handbook of Professional Practice. Her published study, Future Leaders Focus, involves exclusive research of Millennials working in AEC firms. Bobchek presents accredited programs to national professional associations, including AIA, ACEC, and NSPE.

Douglas Richards
Douglas Richards

Douglas Richards, AIA, is a senior project architect and project manager with KZF Design, where he's worked on a variety of institutional, municipal, educational, and hospitality projects. He has 20 years of design and planning experience, with strong skills in design development and project management. He is past president (2010) of AIA Cincinnati and a co-founder of the chapter's AIA VISION program, a yearlong leadership program designed especially for architects licensed less than 10 years.

Marcene Kinney

Marcene Kinney, AIA, is a principal and the Director of Education and Culture markets with GBBN Architects. For 17 years, she has focused her practice in the Education sector, and has worked to innovate mentorship, training, and professional development for emerging design professionals. Kinney is a co-founder of AIA Cincinnati's AIA VISION program, a yearlong leadership program designed especially for architects licensed less than 10 years.

Robert Cassidy

Robert Cassidy is Editorial Director of Building Design+Construction, a professional publication serving the U.S./Canada architecture, engineering, and construction sector. He was educated at the College of the Holy Cross and earned a master's in urban planning at Yale. A city planner, author (Livable Cities: Rebuilding Urban America, One Neighborhood at a Time; Margaret Mead: A Voice for the Century), and founder/chair of the Friends of the Chicago River, Cassidy has won numerous editorial awards, including four Jesse H. Neal Business Journalism Awards, the highest honor in business-to-business journalism.

Barista has covered the U.S. construction industry for more than a decade, previously serving as Editor-in-Chief of Professional Builder, Custom Builder, and HousingZone.com. He has won numerous editorial awards, including three Jesse H. Neal Awards and multiple honors from the Construction Writers Association and the American Society of Business Publication Editors.

Julie S. Higginbotham

Julie S. Higginbotham, Senior Editor of Building Design+Construction, has more than 20 years of experience writing about the built environment. Previously she was editor of Laboratory Design newsletter, and a member of the editorial team at School Planning & Management, College Planning & Management, Building Supply Home Centers, and American Nurseryman. She is a recipient of the Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award and multiple regional and national awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
