Washington-based active-wear company plans sustainable global headquarters

Brooks Sports Inc., a Washington-based running and active-wear company, is moving its global headquarters to Seattle. The company will occupy roughly 80,000 sf of a 120,000-sf building located across the street from the city’s Burke-Gilman Trail, a popular running and hiking path. The project, led by Skanska USA Commercial Development, is participating in Seattle’s Living Building Pilot Program, which encourages the implementation of sustainable strategies toward the Living Building Challenge. To meet requirements, the building’s water and energy usage must be reduced by more than 75%.
