Designed by HGA Architects and Engineers, the new Virtua Voorhees Hospital in Voorhees, N.J., has been designed to offer family-friendly patient care with state-of-the-art technology and services. The 120- acre campus includes a 368-bed inpatient tower, medical office building, a pediatrics medical office, ambulatory care center, utility plant, and zoned parking. The 680,000-sf facility utilizes energy-efficient glass, maintenance- free wood panels, and manufactured stone panels evoking the site’s sand and stone landscape. The curving design unifies the multi-building campus; a greenway links the ambulatory care center and inpatient hospital. Digital recordkeeping, efficient layouts, and ample daylight play into the hospital’s energy-conservation strategy.
