Ventura, Calif., building bigger, better community hospital
December 09, 2011
St. Louis-based design-build firm HBE has broken ground on the new 325,000-sf Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, Calif. The six-story facility will be built next to the current hospital and will have 250 private rooms, 10 surgical theaters, lounge space for families, and a healing garden. Meeting current seismic demands, the hospital also will have a larger emergency room and greater imaging capability than is currently available. More catheterization labs, intensive care and cardiac care recovery units, and a larger Level III neonatal intensive care unit are among the featured upgrades.
