Sustainability is goal for new Class A office building planned for the District of Columbia

By Leslie Streicher, Associate Editor | December 9, 2011

ZGF Architects LLP will design a new Class A office building in Washington, D.C., for Akridge, a D.C.-based commercial real estate firm, and First Potomac Realty Trust. The 170,000-sf office building will have 11 floors of office space, street-level retail, a roof deck, and a fitness center. Striving for LEED Platinum certification, the Building Team will construct the center to be more sustainable than the 85,000-sf, nearly 50-year-old building currently at the location; it will be demolished next year to make way for the new structure.
