Touch-free temperature-control faucet

Touch-free temperature-control faucet

August 11, 2010
This article first appeared in the 200812 issue of BD+C.

Proximity faucet is the first to enable users to control water temperature, as well as on-off settings, without touching the faucet. Users control the water temperature by placing their hands near the red LED for hot water and the blue LED for cold water. Ideal for healthcare applications, where infection control is important, Ceratronic has no surfaces to touch, so there is virtually no chance of spreading germs. The faucet also conserves water and energy. Optional remote control device enables facility managers to adjust the detection range and time variables above deck with the touch of a button. The unit is vandal-resistantā€”sensor and electronic controls are fully enclosed and water-resistantā€”and includes an in-line strainer to prevent clogging.
