Panel system simplifies retail project

The project manager for glazing subcontractor Alliance Glass & Metals of Romeoville, Ill., wanted a panel system that his crew could install with the glazing and curtain wall on a new Wickes Furniture store in Chicago. More than 2,600 sf of Dri-Design rainscreen aluminum panels were selected to accomplish his objective. “The Dri-Design system tied in well with the glazing and curtain wall and our guys handled the installation beautifully,” said John Woodyatt, Alliance's project manager. The project was designed by Amstadter Architects, Chicago. Graycor Construction, Homewood, Ill., was the GC.
