Expanding the Color Palette With Custom Colors

Jeff Alexander | November 16, 2015

Color can make or break your project. At Valspar, we live and breathe color. We understand its importance in bringing an architectural vision forth. With 200 years of experience and over 20,000 colors in our labs, Valspar can bring your project to life with color.

Our color library and BIM resources are valuable tools in selecting architectural coatings. Do you have an idea for a color that isn't in our color library? Valspar also offers custom colors, allowing you to take color to the limit.

When architect Gerardo Lopez was designing the captivating entrance for the popular Altara Shopping and Lifestyle Center in Honduras, he was enchanted by ALPOLIC aluminum composite panels. The unique Prismatic line uses a fluoroethylene vinyl ether technology containing mica flake pigments to create a sparkling, color-shifting effect.

The blue-purple tones Lopez envisioned, however, were not available. Valspar and ALPOLIC teamed up to create the unique color Lopez imagined, expanding the color palette in the process. This vibrant shifting color now greets visitors to the prominent new Altara Business Park.

Valspar has the science to make your color vision a reality. In fact, Valspar has a lab team dedicated to providing custom colors. We can build a color in our labs within a matter of days.

Tell us about your color vision or submit a chip or a paint match request, and Valspar will handle the rest. We can provide custom panels quickly to keep your project moving forward.

At Valspar, we are happy to work with architects on the front end, saving time and money later on. Our color experts are available as a resource or to bounce ideas back and forth.

Because pigments help determine durability of coatings, performance characteristics vary by color. We can also provide warranty and durability information, ensuring your project will remain pristine for years to come.
