Construction career began in Coahuila, Mexico, in 1994; after moving to the U.S., founded Ikerd Consulting in 2003.

Past board member and treasurer, AIA Los Angeles.

Past co-chair, AIA’s Academic Outreach Committee, 2x8 Committee, and Mobius L.A. Committee.

Raised nearly $100,000 for student scholarships on behalf of AIA.

Once wanted to be a pro surfer.

Grew up in Switzerland, where his grandfather had a construction company and he would play in the gravel beds and material yards—“Very inspiring for an architect.”

In high school, camped out at night in a car in front of his favorite surf spot to be the first to catch a few waves before school.

Lead PM on the Remote Consolidated Rental Car Facility (RCF), off-site road improvement project, and Airport Bus Maintenance Facility at Sea-Tac International Airport.

Guided Port of Seattle senior management to pursue first LEED-NC at the RCF (attained LEED Silver). Also collaborating with A/E team during redesign of bus facility, which is also seeking LEED certification.

Joined Heery International in 2004 as an administrative assistant. Within five years, recognized as one of the group’s project management leaders.

Member, Design Build Institute of America, working toward DBIA certification.

Volunteer for Re-building Together Seattle, which helps homeowners who need assistance in maintaining their homes for safety, warmth, and energy efficiency.
