OSHA requires training module on top causes of construction deaths

October 28, 2011

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) now requires a training module on the top four causes of death for construction workers:

  • Deadly falls
  • Lethal electrocutions
  • Being crushed or caught between objects
  • Being struck by moving machinery or objects.

The module is to be used in 10- and 30-hour construction outreach courses. MANCOMM, an American safety and compliance publisher, has released two related publications: Construction and Focus 4: Instructor Guide and Student Handbook, to help address these hazards.
