Svigals + Partners, New Haven, Conn., designed the $16 million renovation to the second and third floors of the Yale School of Medicine's Laboratory for Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology. The building is aiming for LEED certification, utilizing heat-recovery units, chilled beams, faucet-flow restrictors, and low-VOC materials. The firm also increased daylighting and views by taking advantage of Yale's traditional tall windows and outdoor courtyards.
