Whayne Supply's New Bowling Green Branch

New facility scheduled to open in July

By Staff | August 11, 2010

Whayne Supply Co. is building a new Bowling Green, Ky., branch at 390 High Rail Way. The new facility, which will replace the current facility at 651 U.S. 31 W bypass, will sit on 20 acres and have over 65,000 square feet under roof. Employment will increase from the current 45 to 60 full-time.

Groundbreaking for the new facility took place on Dec. 19, and completion is scheduled for July.

"This is quite an expansion," says Brian Cambron, Whayne's vice president and branch operations manager at Bowling Green. "When the original Bowling Green branch opened in 1954, it was surrounded by cornfields and was a little over a mile from downtown. Now we are surrounded by an ever-expanding city and have no room for much-needed expansion. The new location will give us room to grow and meet the demands of the customers we serve."

Whayne Supply Co. is a dealer for Caterpillar Inc., Reedrill, Trail King, Thomas Built Buses, Challenger, Lexion, Sullair, Allmand, and other lines of construction, industrial, mining, and agricultural equipment. In addition to its home office in Louisville, Whayne has branches in Ashland; Bowling Green; Corbin; Dry Ridge; Hazard; Lexington; Paducah; Pikeville, Ky.; and Evansville, Ind.
