Atlanta-based Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates is architect for an $81 million headquarters and emergency operations building at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Center in Atlanta. Skanska USA is general contractor for the 360,000-sf building, which is scheduled for completion in mid-2005.

Billed as the largest non-casino hotel in Nevada — and one that will focus on the interests of exhibitors —the 548-room Renaissance Hotel adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center is scheduled to open in early 2005. It was designed by Newport Beach, Calif.-based architect HPA. Perini Construction is the general contractor. Jackson-Shaw Co. is the developer.

San Francisco-based Field Paoli is architect for On Broadway, a 190,000-sf retail/entertainment center in Redwood City, Calif. Wentz Group of Redwood Shores, Calif., is the general contractor.

A 51,000-sf medical building designed by architect Stephen Rankin Associates is under construction at Thorek Hospital on Chicago's north side. Kiferbaum Construction Corp., Deerfield, Ill., is general contractor.
