Manufactured by Edmonton, Alberta-based Visionwall, the 4-element glazing system features thermal performance that lets daylight in, but keeps heat and cold out. The unit is composed of two sheets of glass that sandwich two sheets of plastic film. The layers help keep the building cool during the summer months and help retain heat in the winter.
Why Alan Traugott uses Visionwall
"Visionwall has among the best thermal/solar performance properties while admitting substantial daylight in the visible spectrum. It also has an overall assembly U-value of 0.13."
"We used Visionwall in the PNC Bank branch design because of its energy efficiency and its flexibility. It both lights and insulates in any climate a branch might be built in."
Alan Traugott also specifies:
-
Steril-Aire UVC Emitter. The unit kills surface and airborne microorganisms in HVAC systems and reduces heating and air-conditioning costs.
-
Lutron EcoSystem. The fluorescent lighting system employs the digital addressable lighting interface (DALI) protocol that facilitates any combination of sensors or wallstations to control the lighting environment without an interface.
