There comes a time when even the most traditional institution must grow and change—but that doesn't mean it needs to leave its history behind. Wausau Window and Wall Systems proved that with its contribution to Rice University's expansion of residential and student-life facilities in Houston. The university added a 196,000-sf expansion between two buildings, Brown College and Martel College. To keep the additions in touch architecturally with the historic look of the original structures, the university specified more than 160 Heritage line window units. The windows were custom made with muntins, panning, and trim to create bold sightlines and a classic academic architectural look.
