Restaurant turns up the heat with radiant window system

Restaurant turns up the heat with radiant window system

This article first appeared in the 200803 issue of BD+C.

The Mahogany Grille in Durango, Colo., became the first restaurant in the nation to specify radiant heat windows when it installed two windows with Thermique heated glass in early 2007. The units help keep the seating areas near the front windows warm and draft-free. In addition, the heated glass offers the extra benefit of condensation control. The Mahogany Grille's front windows will never fog up or frost over while the heat is on, so guests will always experience a clear view through the glass.
