High-end recording facility Studio X at the Las Vegas Palms’ Pearl Concert Theater is designed for band recording and mixing. For the owners to realize a return on their investment, the acoustics and aesthetics in the 3,294-sf theater had to be impeccable. To address both concerns, KGA Architecture specified 25,000 sf of Tectum one-inch panels in all of the trafficways and throughout the theater. The panels were painted on site to ensure a precise color match, beveled on all four sides, and exposed edges were trimmed in rolled L metal.
