 The Krannert Crnter

The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, has been retrofitted with almost 600 LED lighting fixtures from Renaissance Lighting. The centerpiece of this initiative is the lobby, a mammoth 25,000-sf space shared by four separate theater and concert venues. For 40 years the lobby has been illuminated by 625 incandescent light fixtures, consuming 574 million watts annually. The university estimates the lighting retrofit will decrease energy consumption by 460 million watts annually.
