Indoor water park creates year-round summer with thermal paneling

November 3, 2010

Hope Lake Lodge, an indoor water park at Greek Peak Ski Center in central New York, is open year-round and kept at a balmy 80°F to 84°F at all times. To achieve these temperature requirements, and create the wide expanses needed for water slides, designer RBA Group specified 60,000 sf of Metl-Span panels for the building’s roof and walls. The 4-inch-thick CFR-42 roof panels and 3-inch-thick CF-42 walls panels provided the necessary high-thermal efficiency. They also allowed for punched openings that enable portions of slides to exit and re-enter the buildings, and large roll-up doors that give visitors mountain views in the summer. The project earned a LEED Silver rating. Metl-Span
