Flooring mimics terrazzo

Flooring mimics terrazzo

August 11, 2010
This article first appeared in the 200805 issue of BD+C.

Decorative flooring for healthcare, retail, and commercial applications replicates the appearance of terrazzo mosaic flooring at a fraction of the cost. Verrazzo is composed of pigmented epoxy, pigment-absorbing background aggregate, and contrasting trowel-grade colored quartz granules that simulate rich mosaic patterns in vibrant color blends. The low-VOC flooring can withstand long-term exposure to high-foot traffic, UV rays, and chemicals. It provides a seamless surface free of cracks and crevices where bacteria and mold can dwell.
