Pennsylvania lawmakers are working on a bill to update demolition codes, in the wake of a fatal building collapse in Philadelphia in June. The bill would strengthen standards to apply for a demolition permit. The legislation would increase permit costs to establish a fund to be used for training building inspectors and would require the state to review the qualifications of code officials.
