Officials in Storrs, Conn., have planned a new residential and retail town center to appear next to the University of Connecticut’s main campus. A public-private partnership between Mansfield Downtown Partnership Inc. and developers supports the construction of new apartments, retail stores, commercial property, pedestrian walkways, green spaces and conservation areas.
After 10 years of planning, the official groundbreaking is scheduled for today with the first two phases of construction scheduled for completion in 2012 and 2013.
