Moisture management

Moisture management

August 11, 2010
This article first appeared in the 200103 issue of BD+C.

To offer the system redundancy and moisture control requested by building owners and designers in their commercial cladding, a number of adhesively attached systems are now offered. One is an acrylic-based, fiber-reinforced air/weather barrier; the other is a self-healing membrane of reinforced fabric and rubberized asphalt. The EIFS-type products are compatible with designs calling for rainscreens, pressure equalization or secondary weather barriers.
