Halsey Taylor introduces 14-gauge, vandal-resistant water coolers

August 11, 2010

Adding to its extensive collection of high-quality, durable drinking fountains and water coolers, Halsey Taylor introduces the new 14 Gauge Vandal-resistant Water Cooler.  Available in both single and bi-level models (HVR8HD, HVR8HD-BL), this new water cooler line is ideal for any high-traffic application, especially those prone to tampering or misuse, such as schools, recreation centers and correctional facilities.

Offering the ultimate vandal-resistant design, the new HVR8HD water cooler line features a heavy-duty 14 gauge stainless steel cabinet with an integrated basin and front access panel.  In addition, these new coolers are equipped with a wide array of innovative, highly durable features to ensure outstanding resilience and functionality over time.  For example, the self-closing, vandal-resistant pushbutton is easy to operate without grasping or twisting, while the screened vents prevent harmful objects from being inserted into the cooler and the vandal-resistant drain is less susceptible to tampering as it features one-piece, chrome-plated construction.

The HVR8HD coolers also feature Halsey Taylor’s exclusive SmartFlow™ Bubbler, which is not only vandal-resistant but also offers exceptional water efficiency.  Compared to standard bubblers, the SmartFlow reduces the flow of water by nearly 40 percent, while providing a steady, satisfying drink.  Coupled with this top-of-the-line bubbler, the stream height regulator, which features self-closing assembly to prevent tampering, is easily adjusted through a hole in the pushbutton to maintain a constant stream under line pressures ranging from 20 to 150 psi.

In addition to unrivaled durability and functionality, the new 14 Gauge Vandal-resistant coolers are designed with an attractive curved profile that easily blends into any setting.  The durable satin finish offers both aesthetics and resilience, as it resists stains and corrosion while helping to hide water spots and fingerprints.

As with all Halsey Taylor water coolers and drinking fountains, the HVR8HD was developed with the primary goal of offering a clean, safe source of drinking water.  To that end, this new ADA-compliant model features a no-lead design, which ensures that the water system is free of lead-containing brass components at all times.  Since the SmartFlow Bubbler is designed with an integral hood guard, it also helps to prevent contamination from other users, airborne deposits, as well as tampering.  As an optional accessory, the new coolers can be equipped with Halsey Taylor’s 1,500 gallon capacity filter (HWF172) to reduce the taste and odor associated with sediment and chlorine, while also decreasing harmful contaminants, such as cysts and lead.

The MSRP for the single-level model (HVR8HD) is $2,655, while the bi-level model (HVR8HD-BL) is offered at $4,455 MSRP.
