Set to break ground in January 2009 on the former site of Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Bethlehem, Pa., the SteelStax Community Project will include a 90,000-sf performing arts center, which will incorporate major iconic elements from the existing Electric Furnace Building; a 46,000-sf broadcast center; and the renovation and adaptation of the existing, 22,000-sf Turn & Grind Shop, which will serve as the events center. Kostow Greenwood Architects, New York, is the executive architect for the 126-acre mixed-use development.
