This article first appeared in the 200805 issue of BD+C.

Archeologically inspired columns representing Canada's First Nations, ancient Egypt, China's traditional culture, Mexico's Toltec culture, and ancient Greece adorn the newly renovated Museum Subway Station on the Toronto Transit Commission's University Subway Line. Designed by local architect Diamond and Schmitt, the design scheme is a nod to the cultural renaissance taking place above ground through the renovation and expansion of the Royal Ontario Museum and the George R. Gardiner Museum.
