Fort Lauderdale, FL- Thursday, June 11, 2009 - Cubellis, an international architectural, interior design and engineering firm with offices in Fort Lauderdale, is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected by the City of Dania Beach, to provide Design/Build services for a new library, required to be in full conformance with the high velocity hurricane zone regulations for the region, and will be positioned to seek Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
Dania Beach is a city in Broward County, Florida, and is part of the South Florida metropolitan area, which is home to approximately 5,463,857 people. A city steeped in history, Dania Beach was the first official city/municipality to be incorporated into Broward County dating back to the 1880s, and is now the location of one of the largest jai alai frontons in the United States, and is home to the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum,
Situated on a historical site adjacent to the existing City Hall Building located at 100 West Dania Beach Boulevard, the intention of the new project is to design a 10,000 square foot library that provides sufficient offices and space for traditional and electronic library services. Cubellis fulfilled the requirements of proposers for the project, having exhibited considerable relevant experience with previous successful sustainable projects and sensitive historical sites.
