Connectiv, the Business Information Association, a division of the Software & Information Industry Association (formerly ABM), announced the 2016 Jesse H. Neal Award winners on Friday, April 1, at its New York City awards luncheon.

SGC Horizon publications won a total of three Neal Awards. Building Design+Construction (BD+C), a Finalist in four categories, brought home two Jesse H. Neal Awards, considered the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press.” Sister publication, Professional Builder/ProBuilder.com, was a finalist in three categories, winning one Neal Award, and Professional Remodeler/ProRemodeler.com was a Finalist in the Best Technical Content category for its ProTradeCraft.com online resource.

BD+C won in the Best Website category for its redesigned BDCnetwork.com and in the Best Range of Work by a Single Author category for articles by BD+C’s Senior Editor John Caulfield. BD+C also celebrates the Finalist honor in the Best Technical Content category for its “Building Technology Tools” article series, and Best Instructional Content category for its “What Went Wrong? Diagnosing Building Envelope Distress” feature.

Since 2004, BD+C editors have won eight Neal Awards and nine Neal Finalist honors. In 2014, BD+C’s Executive Editor Robert Cassidy received Connectiv’s G.D. Crain, Jr. Award for a distinguished editorial career. The award is given annually to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the development of editorial excellence in business media.

“A Jesse H. Neal Award is the most prized honor in business journalism,” says BD+C’s Editorial Director David Barista. “Being named a finalist is reason enough to celebrate. Bringing home the Neal Award is even sweeter. We are very honored to be a double recipient.”
