Construction has commenced on the $6 million, 28,500-sf Workforce and Continuing Education Building at Brookhaven College in Dallas. Local architect SHW Group designed the building with the goal of providing a home for programs that have been displaced from the main campus due to lack of classroom space. The facility will include 15 classrooms, a computer lab, four multipurpose rooms, two conference rooms, a lobby area, break stations, departmental offices, and outdoor patios and gardens. Green features include low-VOC paints and sealants, a cool roof, and grass paving.

Other Building Team members include: DMJM Management, Los Angeles, project manager; Phillips May, Dallas, construction manager; and Reed Wells Benson, Dallas, MEP engineer. Completion: January 2010.
