If you're an up-and-coming leader at your AEC firm and are interested in advancing your career, join the BD+C editorial team at our 3rd Annual Under 40 Leadership Summit, Oct. 9-11 in San Francisco. 

Each year, BD+C convenes 100 or so young AEC stars for a few days of leadership development, networking, education, and fun. This year, we're adding a new twist: $5,000 in cash prizes. 

Our new XPrize-type competition, called Vision U40, will reward U40 Summit attendees who develop the most innovative solutions to today's pressing social, economic, technical, and cultural problems related to the built environment. Our U40 Summit lead facilitator, Tom Wujec, offers more detail on the $5,000 Vision U40 competition in this video.

HGA unveils plans to transform an abandoned rock quarry into a new research and innovation campus

In the coastal town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass., an abandoned rock quarry will be transformed into a new research and innovation campus designed by HGA. The campus will reuse and upcycle the granite left onsite. The project for Cell Signaling Technology (CST), a life sciences technology company, will turn an environmentally depleted site into a net-zero laboratory campus, with building electrification and onsite renewables.
