"Best Practices in Roofing: Sustainability and Performance" provides you with a top-level introduction to current issues and approaches to roof design, construction and sustainability. Presented by industry leaders with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience, this course will provide you with an overview of the fundamentals of various types of roofing including metal, single-ply, tile and “green” roof systems.

You will be walked through the basics of metals roofs, including panels vs. shingles, standing vs. through-fastened seams, sustainability and performance metrics of metal roofs. You will also be able to better understand what a “green” roof system is, and how insulation, landscaped roofs, “cool” roofs and energy production on rooftops are all helping with to reduce energy consumption and costs. You will also be led through an informative discussion about the unique, environmental benefits of concrete and clay tile roofing systems, including life-cycle cost, recycling, reflectivity, thermal resistance and sustainability.
