AAMA Releases Commercial Installation Practice For Windows and Doors

By Staff | August 11, 2010

The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), Schaumburg, IL, has released its IPBC-08, a newly developed standard practice for installation of windows and doors in commercial buildings.

A publication outlining the standard practice, entitled AAMA Standard Practice for the Installation of Windows and Doors in Commercial Buildings, includes information pertaining to both new construction and replacement.

According to Ken Brenden, AAMA technical-standards manager, the publication was created to ensure consistent, high-quality installation in commercial markets.

The standard practice covers selection of window and glass door products and materials, product performance testing and labeling, performance requirements of windows and doors, site inspection, specifications and codes, window measuring and ordering, product installation and removal, and final cleaning and inspection.
