The fifth-largest green roof in the nation was installed on top of the Target Center in Minneapolis. Spanning 115,000 sf, the roof uses Georgia-Pacific’s DensDeck Prime roof boards—chosen for moisture and fire resistance, durable and economical installation, and high-wind uplift values—and will capture nearly 1 million gal of storm water annually.
City officials collaborated with architect Leo A. Daly, Stock Roofing of Tecta America, Inspec Inc., The Kestrel Design Group, and Georgia-Pacific Gypsum on the project. Other products used include: Electronic Field Vector Mapping grids, G476 Sika Sarnafil PVC waterproofing membranes and Millennium Weather-Tite foam adhesives.
