Ware Malcomb design firm awards scholarships to University of Arizona and Kent State University students

August 11, 2010

Irvine, California – May 29, 2009 - Design firm Ware Malcomb has awarded architectural scholarships to deserving students from the University of Arizona (www.arizona.edu) and Kent State University (www.kent.edu.)   University of Arizona scholarships totaled $2,000.00 and were awarded to Cole Berringer and William Webster.  An additional $2,000.00 scholarship was awarded to the Armstrong Family Scholarship recipient, Kristina Zsigmond from Kent State University.

Ware Malcomb founders, Bill Ware and Bill Malcomb, are alumni of the University of Arizona and created an endowment with the School of Architecture over 30 years ago.  Scholarships are given from the endowment and are awarded to students based upon their Capstone Project, the final project created in the Fifth Year Architecture Studio.  Students who demonstrate the greatest balance between design and technical skill as well as communicate their design process most clearly are interviewed for the scholarship.

Principal Brock Grayson, who runs Ware Malcomb’s Phoenix Office and is also a University of Arizona alumni states, "Education is a significant facet in the profession of architecture. The U of A scholarship represents Ware Malcomb’s commitment to the next generation of architects."
