Dallas-based Centex Construction will complete a mixed-use community structure in San Diego's East Village in early 2006. The Element building will feature 65 residential units and five unique floor plans ranging from 500 to 900 sf in size. The designation "Element" is a nod to the fusion of various building elements—glass, stucco, plaster, aluminum, and exposed concrete—that are all incorporated into the design, according to local architect Austin Veum Robbins Partners.
