Tony Binsfield Receives Green Award

August 11, 2010

Tony Binsfield, Master Crafts lead person at Building Technology Engineers (BTE), has received accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) professional. BTE provides on-site operations, maintenance, facilities, and technical services for commercial, industrial and institutional clients nationwide. BTE is a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc. – a Fortune 500 leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses. The LEED professional accreditation program requires participants to satisfy a number of criteria covering a wide range of sustainable construction and development issues. Accreditation identifies individuals who have the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in the green design process, support and encourage integrated design, and streamline the LEED application and certification process for buildings. The certification process for buildings uses the LEED Green Building Rating System, a consensus-based national green building standard for the construction industry.
