Duo-Gard Industries Inc. officials installed sustainable bus stations from Schenectady, N.Y., to Albany, N.Y., as part of the new BusPlus program. Customized designs provide added security and convenience for 3.5 million annual commuters.

Duo-Gard Industries Inc. officials installed sustainable bus stations from Schenectady, N.Y., to Albany, N.Y., as part of the new BusPlus program. Customized designs provide added security and convenience for 3.5 million annual commuters.
 


Insulated stations protect commuters from the elements and include digital displays for arrival and departure times. Servicing a 17-mile corridor, BusPlus has 80% fewer stops, which shortens travel times and adds service during peak periods. Hybrid engines power the buses, cutting costs and reducing the region’s carbon footprint.
