Sherwin-Williams announced 2013 Vendors of the Year

Partners honored for product innovation, performance, service and sales

Sherwin-Williams recognized its top product partners at the company’s annual Vendor of the Year Awards ceremony, held at the Paint Stores Group 2014 National Sales Meeting in Nashville on January 24. During the ceremony, the company also announced its Vendor Marketing Award winner.

The Vendor of the Year Awards recognize partners that demonstrate exceptional sales growth, outstanding product performance, marketing support and stellar service to Sherwin-Williams Paint Stores and distribution centers.

“These eight vendors are nothing short of outstanding,” said Tracey Gairing, vice president of marketing and purchasing, Sherwin-Williams. “We are honored to recognize these partners for their industry-leading innovations, sales growth and incredible support for Sherwin-Williams and our customers.”

Vendors of the Year    

3M: Twelve-time recipient 3M secured strong sales gains with multiple product lines sold inSherwin-Williams stores by increasing focus on the professional painting contractor through targeted promotions.

Bercom: A two-time recipient, Bercom consistently provides innovative products to make painting easier and faster to complete. Increased sales were driven by strong customer service and focused promotions.

Buffalo Industries: First-time recipient Buffalo Industries provided high-quality products and outstanding customer service in 2013, leading it to be an important national supplier to the company.

Graco: A seven-time recipient, Graco capitalized on the new residential, repaint and commercialmarkets. Heavy participation in professional trade shows and targeted product expositions earned Graco the fourth consecutive year of double-digit sales gains.

Shaw Industries: A three-time recipient andstrong supporter of dedicated floorcovering facilities and multifamily segments, Shaw Industries consistently identified new products to fuel sales and success.

Titan: As a major contributor to strong gains in the spray equipment category, Titan’s key to success was helping Sherwin-Williams customers move from entry-level spray pumps to units with higher output.

Trimaco: A second-time recipient, Trimaco expanded its offerings by identifying new products and niche items that meet the needs of Sherwin-Williams customers. A comprehensive professional show kit and robust support for sales representatives helped Trimaco secure strong sales gains.

Vendor Marketing Award

Sherwin-Williams also honored one vendor, ProForma, with its Vendor Marketing Award, honoring a company’s ability to rise above the competition to differentiate its products and availability in Sherwin-Williams stores.

ProForma: ProForma, a first-time honoree, created a complete marketing and premiums program to support Sherwin-Williams professional trade show events. Items such as T-shirts, hats, giveaways, banners, posters, bags and more were created and made available in an easy-to-order online system. ProForma also helped bridge the gap to allow for field creativity while maintaining the need for corporate consistency.
