Dokaflex 1-2-4 concrete floor formwork system

By By Merritt Watts, Editorial Intern | August 11, 2010
This article first appeared in the 200508 issue of BD+C.

Manufactured by Doka Industries, Amstetten, Austria, and distributed by Doka USA, Little Ferry, N.J., Dokaflex 1-2-4 is a hand-operated concrete floor formwork system for floor slabs of virtually any shape and size. The formwork can be used as a simple high-cycle, loose-formed system, configured in a modular crane-set system, or a combination of the two.

Composed of engineered wood timbers and steel supports, the system includes tripods to open up clear bays for easy movement of material. The engineered timbers are designed to provide long-term use of the product without loss of capacity and are found to be more dimensionally stable and less prone to warping than typical dimensional lumber.

Why Mike Tibbett uses Dokaflex 1-2-4

"We have found that our crews learn how to use the system quicker than other systems.

"We can use the same system components in several variations to accommodate different job conditions.

"We used the system on an eight-level, flat-slab college dormitory structure as a loose-form system because we found the efficiency and production to be better than the commonly used truss tables."
