Stainless steel tops addition to Yale's Lewis Walpole Library

Looking for a metal roof system with a natural gray patina to top an addition to Yale University's Lewis Walpole Library, Centerbrook Architects of Centerbrook, Conn., specified 9,700 sf of TCS II terne-coated, stainless-steel roofing from Follansbee Steel. The design team liked the product for its appearance, natural-weathering qualities, durability, and lead-free composition. The roof was installed as a double-lock, standing-seam system, with TCS II used for the gutters and leaders as well.

TCS II, an architectural stainless steel coated with Follansbee's ZT zinc/tin alloy, does not require painting and can withstand severe corrosive conditions.
