Air and water vapor barrier for above-grade applications can be roller or spray applied to a variety of concrete surfaces. Barriseal is a water-based asphalt emulsion modified with a blend of synthetic rubbers and special additives, which cure to form a flexible, monolithic air/vapor barrier for a variety of substrates in cavity wall construction. The barrier can be applied to concrete, CMU, or exterior gypsum structural walls to be covered with an exterior finish wall system. Barriseal alleviates difficult installation, providing a lower total cost of installation when compared to traditional peel-and-stick air barriers, according to the maker.
