Shipping containers become healthcare clinics

August 11, 2010
This article first appeared in the Issue Title - April 2010 issue of BD+C.

San Francisco architecture firm Anshen+Allen is using ArchiCAD BIM to transform ordinary shipping containers into rapid-deployment health clinics for the firm's pro bono client Containers to Clinics (C2C). Two 8x20-foot containers are used to create modern exam/consultation spaces, a laboratory, and a pharmacy. The first clinic will be installed in a rural community 90 minutes outside the Dominican Republic's capital, Santo Domingo.
