Modular carpet can earn LEED 'Innovation in Design' credit

The U.S. Green Building Council has begun to award LEED credits in “Innovation in Design” for the use of products that have net zero greenhouse gas impact. InterfaceFLOR's entire product line earns an extra LEED credit through the USGBC's ruling on climate neutral products. InterfaceFLOR satisfies this requirement, as all products manufactured or shipped in North America are standard as climate neutral. The carpet manufacturer is one of the largest purchasers of carbon offsets in the voluntary market and has retired more than 392,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions, which equates to 84,848 cars taken off the road for one year, or more than 44 million gallons of gas not consumed.
