LED striplights illuminate senior center while meeting strict energy code

Luminaires are compact, solid-state strips that deliver long maintenance-free performance in a wide range of retrofit and new construction applications. With the lights in place, the center will not need to replace ballasts for another decade.

The Meridian Senior Center in Meridian, Idaho, posed many lighting challenges due to a stringent 1-W/sf energy code allowance. DC Engineering chose the Z Series LED striplight by Lithonia Lighting for its high lumen output for day-to-day activities and ability to reduce the lumens for events and functions requiring lower light levels. Luminaires are compact, solid-state strips that deliver long maintenance-free performance in a wide range of retrofit and new construction applications. With the lights in place, the center will not need to replace ballasts for another decade.
