LED luminaires address the energy challenges healthcare facilities face and also focus on the need for patient comfort through lighting and graphic panels. The University of California San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest, has opened a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite with Everbrite Lighting XLS and wall GPI LED lights. Director of imaging services, Glen Yoshitake, said that UCSD wants patients to feel relaxed and calm in the space, and the LED fixtures help to create a calming effect.
