Gas station turns to LED

Gas station turns to LED

By By Sam Oches, Editorial Intern | August 11, 2010

In order to make his gas station more attractive to customers, Tom Tousis, owner of the Better Day BP gas station in Racine, Wis., wanted to provide a well-lit outdoor area for a safer feel as patrons fueled up. Doing so without raising energy costs, however, seemed difficult.

Tousis decided to go with Beta LED's The Edge product line to brighten up his canopy, storefront, and parking areas. The lighting has helped Tousis save on maintenance and energy costs. He expects to save 62% in energy costs compared to gas stations using traditional HID lights.
