One of the newest additions to the Third Ward in Charlotte, N.C., is the 27-story Catalyst residential tower, whose façade combines a contemporary mix of concrete and 94,000 sf of blue-gray Ti-AC 23 Low-E glass from AGC Flat Glass North America. Ti-AC 23 offers a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.23—the lowest level available on a clear substrate—while still allowing high levels of light transmittance. This allows residents to enjoy floor-to-ceiling views of the city without the need to close their blinds to control glare.
